Surnrise and factory lights
This photo captures the peaceful beauty of sunrise over Lake Starnberg. The sky is painted with deep blues and glowing oranges, blending into a soft gradient that feels almost magical. A gentle circle of light adds a unique charm, while thin clouds and airplane trails stretch across the sky.

Zugspitze, in the morning after Morgenglühen or first tracks
Zugspitze the highest mountain in Germany close to. 3000 m. Was there early morning roughly 6:30 AM to go up the mountain for some photos with a photo school and of course some skiing. Actually, I was the only skier in the group of photographers.
Nevertheless this is high Alpin environment, you take the weather as it is, cold, cloudy deep down below, high clouds ins above and some for and stray clouds moving around your nose,
This is like first tracks at Whistler mountain, you go up, enjoy the breakfast, and when the bell rings, every body goes out for ski to the fresh snow
In our case we have been taking lots of pictures from the platform on the German and Austrian side, before we started Breakfast, and after breakfast again

Swimming in the morning
Summer morning with some night rain, and still cloudy, the bathing jetty close to home, Lake Starnberg Südbad. Still very empty, jetty more or less dry no swimmers yet.

Thunder and lightning and some clouds
Many times, when thunderstorm and bad weather is on horizon or my favorite app, lightningmaps.org shows some possible lightning, I will set up my camera with the pluto trigger.
Still most of the time, lightning is passing on on side or the other, just not in front of my camera placed on my balcony.
But out of 14 shots, quite a few, I got two with lightning strokes , not to bad-

Sint Jacobskerk (Grote Kerk) Vlissingen

The Grote—or Sint-Jacobskerk—was built from 1318 to 1328 and is the main church of the city of Vlissingen. It is located on the Oude Markt.
Its origins are Roman Catholic, but after the ‘Birth of The Netherlands’ in 1572, it belonged to the Dutch Reformed Church (and, since 2004, the Dutch Protestant Church).
The church is a combination of a pseudo-basilica and a hall church: the side aisles are almost as wide as the central nave, the three naves each have their own vault, and the central nave rises above the side aisles although it lacks a clerestory. The structure on the top right is the ceiling of the pulpit.

The concave coast

This was captured during a delightful walk along the beach. The banks and large flakes of yellow-coloured foam are a natural phenomenon. These are the remains of dead algae, specifically the species ‘phaeocystis globosa’, generally called foam algae or brown slime algae. The wave action whips these remains into foam.

Sprinkenhof 3
Mein 3-Tage-Kurztrip nach Hamburg geht zu Ende. Laut GPS-Tracker bin ich in der Zeit 52 km durch die Stadt gelaufen. An vielen Locations war ich 2mal. Im Sprinkenhof war ich sogar 3mal fotografieren, ich wollte unbedingt ein Bild mit Fischauge und schönen Wolken. Hurra, hat geklappt, keine Minute nach dieser Aufnahme hat's schon wieder geregnet 😁.
PS: die Wolken sind echt ! Ich habe hier auf Flickr schon den Sprinkenhof mit Fake-Himmel gesehen und das schaut schrecklich aus. Der einzige Fake bei meinem Bild wäre allenfalls, dass ich mich selbst herausretuschiert habe, da mein Fischauge mit knapp 180° so weit ist, dass fast unmöglich ist nicht mit auf dem Bild zu sein, wenn die Kamera bodennah platziert ist 😉.

The Rif 010 under construction

The city can be seen as a playground. This becomes once again clear when one think about RiF010. It will be an urban wave pool where people can sup and ride surfboards on the generated waves. A city canal near Hang (and Steiger) is being transformed for it.
RiF010 took a long while before it became viable. The local residents didn’t take a kind view on it. They feared it would become a problem for the area's livability. And there were all kinds of organizational and technical difficulties. It was one of the 2014 City initiatives, like the: Luchtsingel (& Schieblock) here.

MarktHal

The Markthal is a combination of a food market and an apartment complex (220 apartments). There are 92 food stalls on the floor of the hall and restaurants and food related stores around and under it. The apartments are at the sides and the top of the building.
It was designed by MVRDV with Winy Maas in the lead. It involved a long and complicated process in which obvious solutions like two parallel apartment slabs with a glass roof that would covered the sandwiched market floor were rejected because of its commonness.
The curved 11.000 square meter ceiling is entirely covered by an artwork, the ‘Horn of Plenty’. It was designed by Arno Coenen in cooperation with Iris Roskam, Marinus de Ruiter, Michiel van Iperen, Frank aan de Stegge, Dustin Kershaw en Frank Hanswijk. There was a discussion about it. The question was if it is real Art 😉 Check out Gekibbel in overvloed (Sorry, in Dutch).
By the way, there was also a discussion about the edifice itself. This was about its position in the urban grid and how it would take trade away from the open-air week market. On the commercial front, the traders in the Markthal are mostly upmarket, so it didn’t take much business away from the street market traders.
The Markthal played its intended role in making Rotterdam centre, a city that fits its size and has a lively urban culture. Due to buildings like this, it’s on the home stretch of shaking off its postwar functionalistic urbanistic shackles.

Rotterdam Blaak is a multi-modal tram, railway and metro station. It's located in the city centre and the second station bearing the name "Blaak". The first one was located at the elevated luchtspoor that used to bisect Rotterdam. In 1993 the underground "Willemspoor-tunnel" replaced it. H.C. Reijnders designed the underground station. The trademark semi-transparant ‘lid’ of the station is made of steel and perspex and has a diameter of 35m.

The area displayed here, with its high rises, was once a large harbour complex with its docks, quays and ‘vemen’ (storage buildings). Mainly due to the containerization of sea freight, in a giant transformative gesture, these facilities were either razed, filled in, redeveloped or moved to the outer edge of the Rotterdam agglomeration.
On the left, some new inhabitants, the ‘usual Kop van Zuid suspects’, are on display here: the Maastoren (Dam & Partners architects, 2010), Wihelminatoren (Zwarts en Jansma, 1998), Wilheminahof-District court, and Internal Revenue Service (Kraaijvanger, 1997).
Central and on the right: the Belvédère (Renzo Piano) with an Italian restaurant in the plinth (good pasta, wacky messages) and De Rotterdam 'vertical city' (Koolhaas/OMA, 2013).

Erbaut in den Jahren 1964/65. Man wollte es schon abreißen, nun steht es aber schon eine Weile unter Denkmalschutz. Hoffentlich bleibt es in der Öffentlichkeit erhalten !
Ich liebe mein SAMYANG, 12 mm f/2.8 , lichtstark, knackscharf und für solche Locations einfach perfekt. Leider hat es noch den alten NIKON-Bajonettanschluss aber mit einem Adapter kann man es auch an den neuen, spiegellosen NIKON Z Kameras nutzen.

Perseids in Southern Finland
Edit on 18th Aug 2023: I found 6 additional meteors from the raw frames. Hunting them from the raw material seems to be a bit of a challenge as the skies are quite bright here in Finland during the Perseids. But now I think I found all.
This year my plan was to image Perseids in three consecutive nights on both sides of the maximum, but my plans went out of the window due to clouds. But, as luck would have it, the night with the Perseids maximum was clear enough with only minor passing clouds and some sea fog. So, I packed my gear to my car around 19:00, wished my family a good night and drove about an hour from Espoo towards east to Emäsalo, Porvoo. There I used the same location as last year when I imaged the Perseids during a full Moon.
I walked a few hundred meters from the car, found a spot on the shore that was familiar to me (scouted the area with my son some time ago during daytime picnic) and set up my gear. I also took some background photos while waiting for the darkness to arrive. However, it should be noted that it really does not get dark here during the Perseids as the southern coast of Finland is quite high up north anyways. But I make do with what I have...
I took the data between 23:25 Aug 12th and 02:59 Aug 13th Finnish time with Sony A7Riv, Samyang 12 mm fisheye + a heater strip and used iOptron SkyTracker Pro and camera's built-in intervalometer (settings: iso 1600, 10 sec exposures, f/2.8). Later I found out that the total amount of frames was 1168 and that meteors were found in about 28 frames. Lots of satellite trails and some sporadic satellites also. Some of these I cleaned away, some not. Then during the post processing I used Photoshop's quite nice AI denoise to clean the background image (I did not use denoising in any meteor trails, though). It's actually pretty amazing denoise as the background image with the sky is only a 10 sec exposure with lots of noise originally. Then I composited the meteor trails one by one on top of the background image and adjusted every single one of them to pop them out more but so that I kept the colors i.e. trying not to over expose the trails. This was done so that I could keep the trail colors which in my opinion looks interesting. No color boost or such were used for the trails, only exposure adjustment, so the colors are quite realistic, only more prominent than "out of the sensor".
I also took myself from one of my background images and composited that in to the right side corner of the final image. I was there, it was a wonderful night and I wanted to make me also part of the image. Close to me you can see Jupiter low in the sky and its "Jupiter river" (compare to Moon river) on the Gulf of Finland. Left from Jupiter is Pleiades and on the far left side of the image one can see the Big dipper.
Next time the plan is still to image more evenings as the nights are short here in Aug and in order to get more meteors using multiple night time hours seems to be the best approach. Oh, and f/4 with 20 sec or so, the coma is terrible with this lens wide open.
So there it is. Colorful Perseids during the night of the maximum in the Southern Finnish coast in 2023.

Normalerweise rechnet mir Lightroom per Objektivkorrektur so eine Aufnahme zu einem "geraden" Bild, hier fand ich den Effekt allerdings witzig und hab`s original belassen. Ein Nachteil der Objektivkorrektur ist, dass alles zu den Rändern hin sehr unscharf wird. Prora - der Wahnsinn
In der 30er Jahren als KdF (Kraft durch Freude)-Hotelanlage / Seebad erbaut, aber nie gänzlich fertiggestellt. Mit 10.000 Zimmern für bis zu 20.000 Gäste und einer Breite von fast 5 km noch bis zum heutigen Tage eines der größten Gebäude der Welt. Während des zweiten Weltkriegs kamen die Bauarbeiten weitestgehend zum Erliegen, fertige Abschnitte wurden zu DDR-Zeiten von der NVA verwendet, aber das meiste verfiel. Einige der 8 Abschnitte wurde gänzlich abgerissen, andere sind umzäunt und dem Verfall preisgegeben. Im zentralen Bereich war jedoch die alte Bausubstanz offensichtlich noch so gut erhalten, dass nach umfangreicher Sanierung luxuriöse Ferienwohnungen, eine Jugendherberge, Museen u.v.m. Einzug gehalten haben.

The entrance, one out of 4
The public main library in Stuttgart, a place to be, to read books, to learn, to meet, to have coffee and cake and to take photos. For the first picture not the main open cube, the second center cube after entering the library. One out of four, because on all four sides there is an entrance.
Yes, this is one of the few libraries which are a photographic hot spot, where the library has a system for photographers, both professional and for hobbyists, Instagrammers and others.
Before I went there, I sent an email asking for permission to use tripod. Normally quite difficult to get, not here. Just come, read the rules for photographers and everything is fine. This was the case, I went, I asked was sent to security, get a batch for the day. 5 Minutes from entering to end of procedures, very organized.
If you look it up, places to photograph in Stuttgart, the library is prominent listed.
Cubes in cubes on top of cubes, designed by Architect Eun Young Yi, won the library several prices for design. For more ask google

Sunny winter Sundays at the Tutzing yacht club
Sunny winter Sundays, there are no boats at the jetties of the Tutzing Yacht club, still to early.
The only boats on the lake Starnberg are rowing boots from the rowing club around the lake.
Museumsschiff Tutzing to the left is not used for boating anymore it's stationary.

Actually, the ship will never fit into the boats house nor leave this place. The ship is an old tourist sight seeing ship and now retired as museums schiff, used for dinning and other events.

Take during an organized walk with some friends. We met, to take some pictures of the various under ground stations here in Munich.
Goal was to take pictures of several stations within Munic. There is even an dedicated group on flickr, www.flickr.com/groups/u-bahn-muenchen/
For this trip, we decided on line U2, starting from the final stop Feldmoching towards main station.
A breath of fresh air, after leaving the station Dülfer Straße, with a short stop the surface to the colorful surface of the shopping mall Mira. Smaller part of the wall in even light.
And if you look carefully, on the brighter parts there are reflections from the clouds above.

La commanderie de Coulommiers, également connue localement sous le nom de Commanderie des Templiers, est une ancienne commanderie templière puis hospitalière située dans la commune de Coulommiers, dans la région naturelle de la Brie et le département de Seine-et-Marne en région Île-de-France.

I am fortunate to live close to the Starnberger See, with view to the alps from my home.
Therefore I have a large collection of photos with mountains, water and clouds,
Constructive critic and positiv feedback is always welcome.
Perseids 2022 in southern Finland
Perseids in the Finnish southern coast in Emäsalo on the night between Aug 12th and 13th. The glow of the full moon can be seen in the upper right corner of the image.
In Finland the nights are not yet dark even at the south coast so it is hard to get a shot with Milky Way properly visible. So I did not even try. But this time the full moon prvided a lot of natural light for the foreground so no need to light paint any landscape.
The meteor streaks are not aligned in to the radiant as I noticed that when I was aligning the images some of the streaks would have moved outside the frame.
Sony A7iii, Samyang 12 mm f/2.8 @ f/2.8. 6 sec exposures at iso 1600. Total of 1505 frames. After cleaning satellites etc and rejecting "empty" frames I found 19 Perseids. These are processed as layers in Photoshop.

Notre-Dame des Neiges
Notre-Dame des Neiges est une église catholique consacrée à la Sainte Vierge, bâtie au XXe siècle sur la commune d'Huez dans la station d'Alpe d'Huez.
le curé Jaap Reuten, Hollandais, imagine le projet d'une nouvelle église et demande en 1960 à Jean Le Boucher et à l'architecte Jean Marol (1930-2010) de faire construire une église en forme de tente (représentant celle du patriarche Abraham). De magnifiques vitraux entourent la nef, de forme ovale, représentant la vie de Jésus-Christ d'après l'évangile de saint Marc, réalisés par l'artiste Arcabas.
Dans le chœur, fut ensuite installé un orgue, unique au monde, en forme de main. L'instrument fut dessiné par le compositeur Jean Guillou et réalisé par le facteur d'orgues allemand Detlef Kleuker.

Only one after noon, sky mostly grey in grey, late afternoon some blue sky, just not enough time to take pictures, evaluate them and then come back and improv on them.
There are three of them, one for living and two commercial buildings with many businesses. This is a realtor’s dream, location, location and location.
But photographing them is more of a challenge. There is a limited choice of locations. To take them all, just from the other side of the river Rhine (Rechts Rheinisch. Or as a panorama from behind. Other than this from the bride, Severinsbrücke, from the floor. But they are huge, even with very wide angel from the floor, there is either not enough space, some other buildings, or converging lines.
Designed by Hadi Teherani, the won several prices.

Schrammtor - Schrammsteine
Ich persönlich bin ja der Meinung, dass unser pfälzisches Luger Tor fast noch ein wenig beeindruckender ist als hier das sächsische Schrammtor, aber dennoch ist das Schrammtor als Durchgang zwischen den hoch in den Himmel aufragenden Schrammstein-Felstürmen ein absolutes Highlight !
Durch das Fisheye-Objektiv lässt sich schwer einschätzen wie hoch die Felsen hier sind. Ein Vergleich mit den Kiefern im Hintergrund lässt sich aber die immense Höhe durchaus erahnen. Ich schätze den rechten Turm auf gut 40 m Höhe.

Der Retschelgrat ist eine "Arena der Sensationen" für extreme Sportkletterer in der Südpfalz. Hier finden sich dutzende schwere und schwerste Kletterrouten bis zum 11. Grad.
Fotogen ist der stark überhängende Fels, wie man sehen kann, auch. Kommt man zur rechten Tages- und Jahreszeit, kuckt sogar die Sonne durch das kleine Felsenfenster 😊

Lake Höllerer | Austria 2022
Lake Höllerer is a body of water in Upper Austria in the area of the municipalities of St. Pantaleon and Haigermoos. It is 780 m long, 330 m wide and has the shape of a kidney; the maximum depth is 21 m. Lake Höller covers an area of about 20 ha and stores about 3 million m³ of water.
For the short trip to Höllerer See, I screwed the SAMYANG 12mm to the Fuji X-E1, which is equivalent to 18mm focal length at 35mm format. The SAMYANG is one of my least favorite lenses because it just isn't as harmonious on a Fuji APS-C as the original Fujinons. I bought the lens especially for my first NYC visit, but especially in Manhattan I could hardly use the lens at all. Just a few shots in Grand Central Station, that's all that came out. Since then I'm always trying to find a reasonable purpose, but it remains difficult.

Il mesure 780 m de long, 330 m de large et a la forme d'un haricot ; sa profondeur maximale est de 21 m. Le lac Höllerer couvre une surface d'environ 20 ha et stocke environ 3 millions de m³ d'eau.
Pour cette courte excursion au lac Höllerer See, j'ai vissé le SAMYANG 12mm sur le Fuji X-E1, ce qui correspond à une distance focale de 18mm au format 35mm. Le SAMYANG est l'un de mes objectifs les moins appréciés, tout simplement parce qu'il n'est pas aussi harmonieux sur un Fuji APS-C que les Fujinon d'origine. J'ai acheté cet objectif spécialement pour ma première visite à NYC, mais je n'ai presque pas pu l'utiliser à Manhattan. Tout juste quelques photos à Grand Central Station, c'est tout ce que j'ai pu obtenir. Depuis, j'essaie toujours de trouver une utilisation raisonnable, mais cela reste difficile.

Das SAMYANG ist eines meiner ungeliebten Objektive, weil es einfach nicht so harmonisch an einer Fuji APS-C ist wie die original Fujinons. Ich habe das Objektiv extra für meinen ersten NYC Besuch erworben, doch gerade in Manhattan konnte ich die Linse fast gar nicht gebrauchen. You can see that buildings and walls are rectilinear but the pavement upfront has curves. I tried to correct it, but as it started to compromise the more interesting elements of image, I let it be.
This small , under $500 USD Samyang lens is absolutely a beast in it's performance. I have loved every shot taken from it. The sharpness and color reproduction that this lens delivers is breathtaking.
I had first ordered Samyang 14mm f2.8 rectilinear lens (similarly priced), but I was thoroughly disappointed with the pictures I took- They were all soft and lacked the color pop. I returned that, ordered the fisheye and I couldn't be happier.
If you learn how to correct the fisheye distortions upto 90% using Photoshop and can live with remaining 10% distortion, I think this lens outperforms Tamron's 15-30 f2.8, Nikon's 14-24mm f2.8 and Sigma's 14-14 f2.8 , each being at least 3 to 4 times more expensive. At the very least, this lens can give most High Quality-Ultra Wide Angle experience at lowest possible price today.

Pretty popular photo location for obvious reasons...
The blue walls (remainders of the slurry wall that was used during construction) and the 11 huge lamps of 3.80 m diameter each give a very special atmosphere. The lamps do have yellow, red and blue lights, so each section has a slightly different atmosphere.

Quartier Saint Leu Amiens
Au début du xiiie siècle, la ville d'Amiens s'agrandit vers le nord par l'aménagement de quais sur les rives des canaux et bras de la Somme. Les industries textiles (tissage, teinturerie) les tanneries et des moulins s'installèrent dans ce lieu qui prit le nom de quartier Saint-Leu. La reconstruction de la cathédrale entraîna le transfert de l'Hôtel-Dieu le long de la chaussée aux bleds - l'actuelle rue Saint-Leu.
À la fin du xve siècle, le quartier accueillit l'industrie de la sayetterie, chassée d'Arras, sur décision du roi Louis XI. La population ouvrière occupa le quartier dans des maisons de torchis jusqu'à la fin du xxe siècle.

Crater Lake Bubble
Crater Lake through a Rokinon 12mm fisheye lens. Tilting the lens down slightly to capture the foreground rocks created some serious horizon distortion.

Ultra wide angle lenses are a hoot! Here I was using a full manual Rokinon (Samyang) 12mm lens on my Sony A7III. I even managed to get a pretty cool sun star. The road at the bottom of the photo is straight, but bent here by the fisheye optics.

Du simple manoir fortifié au château fort de la guerre de Cent Ans, du château résidentiel à la Ferme des Tours, le château de Blandy-les-Tours a connu une longue histoire et a été la propriété de familles prestigieuses.
Château de Jossigny
Le château de Jossigny fut édifié en 1753 pour Claude-François Leconte des Graviers, conseiller à la Ve chambre des Enquêtes du Parlement de Paris, par Jacques Hardouin-Mansart de Sagonne (°1711 – †1778), dernier de l’illustre dynastie des Mansart. Situé à 32 kilomètres à l’est de Paris et à 6 kilomètres au sud de Lagny-sur-Marne, il constitue l’un des plus parfaits exemples d’application du traité de Charles-Étienne Briseux, L’art de bâtir des maisons de campagne, publié à Paris en 1743. Il constitue en même temps un précieux témoignage de l’architecture d’une maison rocaille du milieu du xviiie siècle dans tout ce qu’elle a de plus charmant et de pittoresque.

Dédiée à la Vierge Marie, elle est l'église cathédrale du diocèse d'Amiens.
C'est la plus vaste cathédrale de France par ses volumes intérieurs (200 000 m3). Sa longueur hors œuvre est de 145 mètres et sa hauteur sous voûte de 42,30 mètres, elle n'est dépassée que par la cathédrale Saint-Pierre de Beauvais sur ce point.
